The second floor of the Apache Substation includes a 911 Call Center and Dispatch Center. Arrington Watkins created a space that allows users to move around the facility while maintaining accessibility to the console areas.
Each side of the call center contains 12 workstations and supervisors’ offices, and supervisors for 911 and Dispatch can monitor the area via an elevated workstation. The four-station training center is separated from the regular facility by a special partition door that creates a sound-proof barrier from regular call center operations. The training center systems are connected to the dispatch system and can go live in case of emergency. The entire facility includes complete redundant power and cooling systems.
