The Medium Security and Vocational Training Facility (MSVTF) is a new single-story building and will include two new housing units to provide space for 120 inmate beds. Housing units consist of four 30-bed units and a large program room. The facility will provide job training for employment opportunities with the goal of helping reduce recidivism in Placer County. The new facility features:
two central officer custody stations
dayrooms and recreation yards in each housing unit
multi-purpose/vocational classrooms for programming (welding, vinyl printing, embroidery, construction)
in-person and video visitation
public lobby
The MSVTF will connect to the east side of the existing minimum-security facility. The Placer County MHF is being built concurrently.
