Arrington Watkins Architects and Gilbane provided design-build services for the expansion of the Santa Cruz County Jail – Rountree Facility. The entire project was designed with function in mind. As a 64-bed re-entry facility, Rountree was created to prepare inmates to function in society. Multiple program spaces including classrooms, computer labs, vocational rooms, and an open-air garden will train these individuals to be productive members of society.

Secure recreation areas encourage outdoor activities with minimal supervision points. The Visitation building provides a courtyard with the Housing building to make a secure outdoor visitation area that is separate from other functions of the facility.
